The free Vegan Christmas Market is back on 14 and 15 December at the Cultural Centre in Bonnevoie, promising culinary delights, entertainment and festive gifts to shop.
Just because it's a vegan market does not mean you have to be vegan. Quite the opposite, says organiser Barbara Ujlaki, President of the Vegan Society Luxembourg asbl: Everyone is welcome to join the free event and meet small local businesses.
The society's goal is to promote the shift towards veganism and a plant-based diet in Luxembourg and the European Union. It does this by raising awareness about the benefits of veganism for animals, the environment and human health.

"I became vegan for the animals in 2016 when I was living in Tokyo and learned about the hidden realities of the egg and dairy industry, after being a vegetarian since the age of 11," says Ujlaki, speaking to Melissa Dalton on Today Radio. She then joined the Vegan Society to get more involved in promoting this lifestyle.
The society's annual Christmas market hosts 40 different stalls: Food & pastries, information stalls by charities working in animal welfare, other stalls such as: vegan wines & cheeses, bags, cosmetics, decorations, books, jewellery, & much more). All products are vegan and cruelty-free (ingredients not tested on animals).
There's also a kids corner, a visit by Kleeschen, a photo booth, live piano music, bar and a tombola. Entry to the event is free and takes place at the Cultural Centre in Bonnevoie (rue des Ardennes, L-1133 Luxembourg).
