1. LuxFilmFest

What: National film festival

The Luxembourg City Film Festival, often called LuxFilmFest for short, is back for its 16th edition. As Luxembourg’s premier annual film event and official national cinema festival, it is proudly supported by the Ministry of Culture and the City of Luxembourg. Screenings and events take place across Luxembourg City, including at the Cinémathèque, Ciné Utopia, Kinepolis Kirchberg, and other cultural venues.

Famous faces will make up the jury for this year’s edition.

2. International Women’s Day

What: A celebration and recognition of women across the globe
Where: Everywhere
When: Sunday, 8 March

One of the main events that will be happening in the country is the Feminist March, starting at 2pm at the Place de Paris. Mudam also has an event the day before where people can make their own signs, which runs from 10am until 6pm. Moreover, the country is jam-packed with events celebrating the day including: a women’s bouldering festival, Stand-up comedy for women, Creative Day – Women’s Rights Day, Lives of women – legendary women guided tour, and Ladies Disco Tea Dance ft Nickie Nicole.

3. Luxembourg Geek Xperience

What: Largest geek convention in the country

The biggest geek convention in Luxembourg, attracting thousands of visitors annually to celebrate gaming, manga, cosplay, pop culture, technology, science fiction, and more. Originally launched as Luxembourg Gaming Xperience, the event focused on e-sports and video games. Fuelled by public interest and the absence of comparable events in the Grand Duchy, LGX rapidly grew into a key destination for the wider geek community, all while staying true to its original passion and commitment to quality.

4. Watch Josh Island live

What: Think Sting meets Hozier

Former RTL Today editor turned singer-songwriter Josh Island returns to the Grand Duchy to showcase his latest album Imaginary Borders; after touring most of Europe and even India he is finally back for his latest release. 5. Lynsey Addario presents her Women In War

Acclaimed US-American photojournalist Lynsey Addario will open her powerful new exhibition entitled Women in War, at the museum in Esch-sur-Alzette. The exhibition brings together more than two decades of her work, highlighting the lives and experiences of women affected by war and conflict all around the world.

6. The World of Hans Zimmer

What: Immersive symphony of the legendary composer’s work

With The World of Hans Zimmer concert series, multiple Academy Award and Grammy winner Hans Zimmer offers fans a captivating live journey through his iconic film music. Serving as musical director and curator, Zimmer shapes the show’s experience, ensuring his signature vision is present even when he isn’t performing on stage. 7. Rave the night away
