We set out to uncover the best taco spots in town. From traditional to innovative, you're sure to find some interesting variations across the city!

After our last finger-licking burger escapade, we knew it was time to kick things up a notch – or should we say, add a fiery twist – to our culinary adventures!

So, dear food enthusiasts, we decided to swap our burger buns for tortillas and dive headfirst into the world of tacos! Here are our top 4 places for taco's around Luxembourg City:

Pablito

RTL

Our journey kicked off in the Belair neighborhood. After a very warm welcome at Pablito's, we decided to go for the "barbacoa tacos" – tender beef cheeks slow-cooked, adorned with cilantro, white onions, radish, and a chipotle sour cream – as well as the "avocado tacos" - A deep-fried avocado, topped with pico de gallo, corn, chipotle sour cream, and queso fresco. One serving came with two plump tacos brimming with taste, and a fair warning: the sauces come with a side of spice, ready to test your heat tolerance!

Their taco's are made from homemade corn tortillas, and can be topped off with slow braised meats, fish or vegetarian options.

You can also find other dishes such as ceviches, tapas, and some desserts!

Agave

RTL

Next stop was Agave, in Hollerich. A very colourful place, that also boasts a proud selection of different tequilas! Here we decided to go for "tacos ensenada" – where shrimp tempura, pico de gallo, and chipotle-mayo team up for a flavor fiesta. We also ordered the "barbacoa de res tacos" – shredded beef slow-cooked, onions, coriander, and a zesty lime twist. One serving came with a quartet of petite but potent tacos, hence they were a tad pricier. The winner here was their shrimp tempura taco, which was absolutely finger-licking-good!

Their menu also offers different starters, salads, quesadillas, fish and meat dishes! And of course, different mezcal cocktails!

Mamacita

RTL

Venturing further into the city center, Mamacita invites you to experience tacos in a "less traditional" light. Here we went for the "doradas tacos" – Codfish aguachile, pomegranate, salsa, guacamole, and red cabbage pickles, all nestled within a tacobell as well as the "birria tacos" – succulent lamb, mozzarella, onions, peppers, and coriander, all accompanied by a soul-warming birria bouillon. Each serving included two uniquely reimagined tacos, which were delicious, but not necessarily "traditional" if that is what you're looking for.

Their menu also features quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, and some small appetizers!

If you come here, remember to also explore their array of Mexican-inspired cocktails that add an extra layer of flavor to your experience!

Taco Shop

RTL

Our final destination on this flavorful journey was the Taco Shop food truck, stationed conveniently at the airport for those in need of a taco fix before takeoff. With a quick scan of their wallet-friendly menu, we decided to go for the "chicken taco" and the undeniable favorite – the "chorizo taco".

And here's the kicker – you're granted the privilege of decking out your tacos with a trio of saucy companions. But a friendly piece of advice: even the "mild" option packs a spicy punch that's not to be underestimated. In a gesture of culinary kindness, they graciously extended an offer we couldn't refuse – a velvety guacamole sauce to rescue our dear Caro from the fiery clutches of the other sauces. A round of applause for top-notch service, we say!

Among other things on their menu you can find: burritos, quesadillas, papa asadas and much more!

They've also got their other food trucks popping up at various spots on different days, including Kirchberg and Sandweiler. To stay in the loop and track their journey, make sure to keep an eye on their whereabouts.
