We have once again selected our top picks for family fun this week: learn all about firefly Ray, explore the capital, and get hyped for National Day.
Without further ado, here are our top picks for the week of 16–22 June from our busy monthly activities calendar.
Monday, 16 June
Why not start the week with something light? The weather promises to be nice and dry, so how about paying a visit to the Echternach lake for a decent walk and some much-deserved ice cream right after.
Tuesday, 17 June
Make your way down to Neumünster Abbey in the capital for an interactive musical performance that invites children aged six and older to explore the healing power of sound and celebrate nature's voices.
Wednesday, 18 June
Head over to Villa Vauban in Luxembourg City for a guided museum visit for parents and babies to enjoy art together –including a relaxing session at the end.
Thursday, 19 June
Time for a trip to Ettelbruck, where you can find a playful wooden village that invites little ones aged up to six to explore, build, and move in a creative space themed around PippiLotta the mouse.
Friday, 20 June
With National Day celebrations shortly upon us, why not learn something about where all the fun unfolds? Discover Luxembourg City's fortifications and old quarters – all part of the UNECSO World Heritage – through special tours for kids.
Saturday, 21 June
Visit the Luxembourg City History Museum to discover the story of a firefly called Ray in a reading by Luc Marteling, followed by a multilingual word exploration and a hands-on insect crafting session for children aged 4–8.
Sunday, 22 June
This year's National Day marks a special anniversary as Luxembourg celebrates 25 years of Grand Duke Henri's reign. On the eve of National Day, the City of Luxembourg has once again organised its traditional torchlight procession, a series of concerts, and of course the spectacular fireworks display at the end of the night.
