Time to warm up the vocal cords and get into the festive swing of things! Here is a rundown of family-friendly concerts and singalongs this season.

Christmas carols and singalongs

For a singalong of both Luxembourgish and international Christmas songs, head to Christmas Carols in Mersch on Saturday, 7 December at 4.30pm. All are welcome and the audience will be encouraged to participate.

The Anglican Church is hosting their annual 'Carols by Candlelight' on Sunday, 15 December at 6pm at the Konvikt Chapel. This traditional church service will be a welcome moment of music and reflection in the run up to the busiest time of the year!

The annual Chrëschtconcert at the Philharmonie offers the audience the chance to sing along to some of the most beautiful Christmas melodies in the Grand Auditorium on the 20 and 21 December. If you're quick, you might be able to snap up a couple of the last available tickets for this wonderful event.

For a large-scale festive extravaganza, you can choose either to sing or to play at the Big Christmas Wind Orchestra and Choir which will take place in Echternach on 15 December. Christmas concert

Join Les Amis du Chant to hear some beautiful renditions of classical carols in Belval on the 10th December as part of the 'Blast Into Christmas' festival; Mertzig on 15 December; or the Luxembourg Conservatoire on the 17th December. Also at the Conservatoire, on Wednesday, 11 December, at 7pm, you are invited to the traditional Christmas Brass concert where you can enjoy some traditional Brass Band repertoire together with several Christmas classics.

Journey around the world with the Choir of the University of Luxembourg as they perform renditions of winter-themed French, Portuguese and Czech songs amongst others on 5, 7, or 8 December in the City, Limpertsberg and Bertrange.

Experience the season's joy through the power of harmony with the Voices International choir. They will perform their Voices of Winter concert four times across the Grand Duchy. All events are free to attend, and voluntary contributions will be donated to children's charities.

If you've had enough of Christmas songs but want to channel those cosy 'hygge' vibes, the Candelight Concert Series offers you a relaxing live music experience. Coldplay, Adele, or the film music of Hans Zimmer – you'll be sure to find something to take a moment out of your busy schedule and wind down with the kids.

Music at Christmas markets

Check the programme for the Winterlights Christmas Markets in Luxembourg City, as there are many musical moments to bring warmth and good cheer. In the Winterkids Attractions and Entertainment section, you can filter by day to find plenty of shows and concerts. The Niklosmaart in Place de Paris has a rich musical programme of over 80 events, including school choirs, pop groups, jazz ensembles and the fabulous Christmas Tree Singers.
