The art form is based on spoken-word performances, which, aside from having a certain rhythm and flow, deal with current affairs and artists' emotions.

At Lënster Lycee, the European School, as well the sports secondary school, pupils received the chance of vocalising their feelings about the pandemic with the help of professional poetry slam performers. The project is a joint effort between the Pierre Werner Institute and the Sommer Foundation.

Bas Böttcher and Florian Cieslek, both popular slammers in the German scene, joined classes from the three high schools. They theme of their workshop centred around freedom in times of the pandemic. Although no show will be performed due to the pandemic, a video was compiled that features all the best scenes from the young slammers.

The programme is set to be organised annually from now on, which means that other high schools can also register for the project in the future.
