Students from 5 Luxembourgish dance schools showed off their skills in Esch-sur-Alzette's theatre on Saturday.
85 students competed in the categories classic, hip-hop, modern-jazz, contemporary and tap dance and were judged by a jury.
For the national dance federation (CND) the dance competition is an opportunity to bring people in Luxembourg closer to amateur dancing.
CND president Marie-Laure Neiseler mentioned that these competitions are also important to convey certain values, such as discipline and team spirit, to dance students. Taking part in a contest teaches young dancing students how to cope with stressful situations; and in some instances it can also open doors.
The next important dance competition well be held on 3 and 4 November, during the European Dance Championships which are hosted by the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg.
