Following on from the success of last year’s Stage Makeup Workshop, LEAPA is organising two similar workshops at the Foyer Européen, at Luxembourg-Gare.

Professional artist Natalia Sanchez will give a beginners’ level workshop on Saturday, 17 March (14.00-17.00) and an intermediate level workshop is planned for Saturday, 2 June (14.00-17.00).

Each workshop costs €55 for members and €60 for non-members and the price covers all materials.

The beginners’ workshop is a first step into the world of theatrical make-up. Over the course of the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to experience two or three types of make-up, such as ageing, expressionism or fantasy make-up.

These make-up techniques are used in very different styles of theatre, but they all share the same concept of ‘the face as the canvas’, and will allow participants to develop their creativity and sensitivity to colour, shadow and light in creating characters.

What is LEAPA?

LEAPA is a multinational and multicultural club - set up in Luxembourg in 2015 - to bring people together to appreciate or take part in all kinds of performing arts. It is a section of the Cultural Circle of the European Institutions in Luxembourg.

The purpose of the club is to socialise and enjoy a variety of English-language cultural events and performing arts, including its own or others’ productions. Members meet about once a month for activities that can range from play or poetry readings, visits to English-language productions in Luxembourg, listening to or taking part in radio plays, music and song sessions, to Murder Mystery dinner events and similar activities. Members can benefit from discounted theatre tickets, quizzes, workshops, playwriting and poetry competitions, talent sharing, concerts etc.

Our mission is to promote, share and enjoy the arts in Luxembourg. For now we are a small club, but we put a lot of effort into growing and increasing our membership and activities.
