Luxembourg’s own SUPERDRIVE are celebrating a major win after their music video Let Go took First Prize at the Trier FilmFest, impressing both the jury and festival audience with its emotional power and cinematic style.

Directed by Matteo Orgniani and filmed by Loïck Boulet, Let Go was praised for its visual storytelling and atmosphere, earning the top honour from a panel that included Bastian Reuter, Christopher Ledwig, and Markus Nöhl. The video also won the public vote, underlining its wide appeal.

Since its release, Let Go has struck a chord far beyond Luxembourg, racking up more than 100,000 views on YouTube and drawing international attention for its haunting imagery and emotional pull.

The track was written and performed by SUPERDRIVE, Louis Wright, Baba Pintsch, Nico Wege, and Pol Urbany, and has quickly become one of the band’s most celebrated songs to date.

“We set out to make something honest, something that feels like the moment you stop fighting the current and just let go,” said frontman Louis Wright. “Winning at Trier means a lot because it tells us people truly connected with that feeling.”

Cinematographer Loïck Boulet said the collaboration between music and film was key to the project’s success: “We wanted to visualise that tension between resistance and release and Matteo’s direction really brought that to life.”

Recognised for highlighting excellence in independent film and music video production, the Trier FilmFest called Let Go a standout example of storytelling through sound and image.
