Ahead of the new release, Kevin Parker had teased fans with the expansive, drum-driven single End of Summer.
According to the PR pack the track 'taps into the spirit of acid house's legendary summer of '89, the wild free parties that shaped the '90s, and Australia's famous bush doofs', creating a space where nostalgia meets dancefloor euphoria.
With Loser, Parker takes that energy and runs with it, building hypnotic layers and driving rhythms that push Tame Impala into new territory. It's a sound that feels rooted in dance music history yet completely futuristic, which really shows why Parker remains one of today's most innovative artists.
Over the past decade, Parker has established himself as a as a true original in contemporary music, he handles everything himself, writing, producing, mixing, and playing every instrument on Tame Impala's records.
His work has earned four GRAMMY nominations, including a win for his 2024 Justice collaboration on Neverender. In Australia, he holds 13 ARIA Awards from 27 nominations, while internationally he's secured a BRIT Award plus nominations at the Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards.
The numbers tell their own story: multiple Alternative Radio Top 10 singles, including #1s Lost In Yesterday and Is It True, while The Less I Know the Better has crossed two billion streams. Tame Impala's four albums: Innerspeaker, Lonerism, Currents, and The Slow Rush, have all received widespread critical acclaim, with The Slow Rush hitting number one in several countries and representing Parker's biggest global chart success.
Beyond his own project, he’s become a sought-after collaborator, lending his production and songwriting to artists as varied as Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, SZA, Travis Scott, Gorillaz, and Rihanna.
