Today Radio is giving you the chance to catch an absolute icon live in concert: Suzanne Vega is coming to Rockhal on October 13, and we’ve got tickets up for grabs.
From the haunting melodies of 'Luka' to the rhythmic charm of 'Tom’s Diner', Suzanne Vega’s music has been part of the soundtrack to countless lives since the '80s. Her upcoming show at Rockhal will be a career-spanning set, featuring fan favorites along with brand new songs from her latest album Flying with Angels. She’ll be joined on stage by Gerry Leonard, a guitarist best known for his work with David Bowie, and cellist Stephanie Winters, adding depth and soul to the performance.
Often described as one of the most influential songwriters of her generation, Vega made her mark during the folk revival of the early ‘80s, playing her sharp, poetic songs in Greenwich Village clubs. Over the years, she’s built a reputation as a master storyteller with a voice that’s been called everything from “clear and unwavering” (Rolling Stone) to a “cool, dry sandpaper-brushed near-whisper” (The Washington Post).
Her music is thoughtful, lyrical, and quietly powerful songs about real people, real lives, and the little moments that shape us. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering her, this show is not to be missed.
