With plenty of sun, e-Lake enjoyed near-perfect conditions and the musicians kept the crowd dancing.
Dr. gonZo and Balkan & Klezmer Vibes opened proceedings and soon had people dancing. Zaltimband and The Horse Blinders then led the audience through an on-screen animated sequence that culminated in Luxembourg’s women’s football team lifting the European Championship trophy – one can dream!
Before the final set, Serge Tonnar and the Serge Tonnar Trio delivered a tight, guitar-led set. Running slightly late, Luxembourgish band Schëppe Siwen lifted the mood further and had the crowd rocking.
Their song Stärenhimmel brought a moment of reflection for local punk icon Pascal vu Wooltz, who died recently in a tragic road accident. A mainstay of Luxembourg’s music scene, Wooltz was touchingly remembered and the audience paid their respects.
Their concert was concluded by inviting the Sauerquakerten, an up-and-coming youth act, to join Schëppe Siwen on stage and dance with them.
Despite facing obstacles over the past weeks, the organisers are proudly looking back at a successful weekend.
If you are already missing the music, the next e-lake festival will take place on the second weekend of August, so there is plenty to look forward to!
