Here at RTL Today Radio we’ve cultivated a bit of a rep as being tastemakers in the GD.

So, alongside our more general daytime playlist, we go about snapping up some of the best new track we can find. Here are five of those very things right here....

Danny Brown – Lift You Up

Danny Brown leans into a hazy, woozy groove with his trademark off-kilter delivery. The track blends raw emotion with left-field energy. It’s not really a track that suits winter moods but it will have you bopping all the same. Check out the accompanying visualizer, as it matches the mood with it being trippy, colourful, and constantly shifting.

VILLANELLE – Measly Means

Not to be confused with the Killing Eve protagonist/antagonist, this A sharp, moody alt-pop cut dripping with dark attitude. This is pure 90s/00s era grunge guitar, but kicking and screaming into whatever we are calling this decade. Gene Gallagher’s* vocals float over a minimalist, tension-filled beat, feeling intimate but dangerous, like a whisper turning into a warning. *Yes, Liam’s son.

Greentea Peng – Green

We love Greentea Peng at RTL Today Radio and this cut is a lush, psychedelic-groove anthem built on her soulful, hypnotic tone. The production is warm and woozy, vibrating with bass and colour, typical of Peng’s signature soulful sound.

Maisie Peters – Say My Name In Your Sleep

Maisie delivers another diaristic pop gem full of heartbreak, bite, and melody. Hooks come fast, sharp, and instantly singable. It’s like reading over the pages of something you know you shouldn’t. There’s a lovely version of it online too, with a guest appearnace from Marcus Mumford. It’s practically perfect pop.

OKO UK · Grove · Rider Shafique – Been Busy

A gritty, bass-heavy cut blending UK club energy with spoken-word authority. This one DEMANDS to be played loud and on repeat. Grove’s production hits hard, while Shafique brings depth and presence. There’s Massive Attack in there, Goldie, Faithless etc, but it is thoroughly of the NOW and ia exceptional. If Radio 1 UK dig it, then, excuse us while we fuss over it too. This is rhythmic, raw, and built for movement—underground but undeniable.
