Making her long-awaited return with Orioles Eating Oranges, Odell's new tracks is out via New York indie label Frenchkiss.
Marking her first new music since her acclaimed 2022 debut album Autumn Eve, the single picks up where that record left off, tender, wistful, and observant. The song reflects on witnessing a joyful, functioning family unit from the outside, drawn from a deeply personal moment.
“I had gone with my daughter to visit my sister’s family in Indiana just before everything shut down,” Odell shares. “We ended up staying for months, and it was the first time I’d seen kids playing freely from sunup to sundown since my own childhood.”

Raised by artists, her mother a painter, her father a potter, Odell spent her youth travelling across the country in a van, hopping between art festivals and craft fairs.

Surrounded by creativity, it was only natural that she would find her own voice. Orioles Eating Oranges marks the beginning of a new chapter for Odell, who has been quietly writing and evolving her sound. More new music is on the way.
