The fourth edition of Dudelange's USINA Festival recently drew crowds with its signature two-tiered format, pairing international star Rea Garvey's headline performance with a line-up of Luxembourgish artists.
The fourth edition of the USINA Festival recently took place in Dudelange, featuring approximately 20 artists across two distinct programme days.
International headliner Rea Garvey anchored the paid-entry lineup, while the free-admission programme highlighted cultural performances and national artists, including Luxembourgish singer Joel Marques.
Marques, who performed on the festival's 'Kantina Stage', told RTL he has several open-air concerts scheduled this summer, emphasising his passion for live performances.
The festival also showcased Luxembourg artist EDSUN's innovative new production, which blended music with theatrical elements. EDSUN described the show as a "work in progress", noting plans to develop separate versions for festival and theatre settings.
John Rech, director of Dudelange's 'Opderschmelz' cultural centre, explained that, from the very beginning, the organisers wanted to incorporate a paid day featuring a "big headliner" and a day that would focus more on culture as well as families with children, featuring "clowns, magicians, and more indie acts".
First launched in 2022 as part of Esch's European Capital of Culture program, USINA remains a collaboration between Den Atelier, Gudde Wëllen, and Dudelange municipality.
