Los Bitchos may have missed the stage in Luxembourg for a chat, but ahead of a London DJ set, bandmates Serra and Agustina shared spicy margaritas, laughs, and insights with Today Radio's Laura Fagan – proving their signature energy hits just as hard behind the decks as it does on stage.

We didn't manage to grab Los Bitchos for an interview when they were in town recently at the Out Of The Crowd Festival, but Today Radio's Laura Fagan was able to catch up with Serra and Agustina from the band ahead of a DJ set in London. Armed with spicy margaritas and a healthy dose of laughter, the pair were ready to bring the same high-energy, joyful spirit that defines their music to a different kind of stage.

"It's music as well, just a different side of us", they explained, when asked how DJing fits into their broader musical identity. "We do play music we're inspired by, but generally not our own songs, that feels a bit awkward... unless we've had a few cascovels."

DJ sets have become a fun extension of their performance repertoire, offering a looser, more relaxed environment compared to the precision and physicality of a full-band show. "With playing on stage, you're on instruments, you need to be proficient. With DJing, it's more relaxed, more silly, and more room for spicy margs."

The band spoke warmly about the closeness that makes it all work. Whether they're in the studio, on tour, or huddled around the decks, their musical chemistry is rooted in genuine friendship.

"A big element of our band is being together", they said. "We just have so much fun being together... everything we do is just a laugh."

It's that sense of camaraderie that shines through in their music, where there's no front person, no centre of attention just a shared creative space driven by instinct and rhythm. "Nothing but vibes", as they put it.

That same energy is palpable on stage and behind the decks, where the band’s love of music and each other is front and centre. It's why a DJ set by Los Bitchos isn't just a warm-up or an afterthought. It's another celebration. Maybe a post-gig DJ set next time they're in town?
