Rock University, a music school in Luxembourg City, caters its courses specifically to its students to promote music made in Luxembourg.
Rock University is a music school unlike any other. The goal is not to simply play music, but to feel, and above all personalize it. The teachers, who are composed of passionate, professional musicians, set out to promote every talent as much as possible.
With specially adapted courses, they can respond to the individual needs and wishes of each student, which is also reflected in their results.
Every Friday for six weeks, RTL You will feature a new musician covering a song of their choice. This week, we're introducing Carmen Carbonell and her cover of "Me & Mr Jones" by Amy Winehouse.
Carmen introduces herself in 2-3 sentences
1. Why did you decide to attend Rock University here in Luxembourg?
Unfortunately I am not a student at Rock University despite my wishes. As I am completing my studies in psychology in Brussels, I do not have the time to take classes at the Rock University. However I did accompany my sister, who is a student there, to her lessons a few times, and with time I was lucky enough to get to know the teaching team as well as some of the students. Fortunately for me, they gave me the opportunity to perform with them.
2. What does music mean to you?
The music has many effects on me especially as it is different to hear it than to sing it. Both nevertheless have only positive effects on my personality. Also, the music helps me to feel connected to other people, which is essential for me personally.
3. What's been your best concert so far?
Whenever I play a show or am part of one, I feel very happy. Even if it's Sunday in front of my family at home. But I must say that the event this summer at the Rockhal together with other students of Rock University was the funniest and the biggest show I have been part of so far.
