103 video applications were received for the second edition of the contest. 16 finalists aged between 11 and 16 years have been selected to show off their singing talents to hundreds of audience members this weekend, following weeks of coaching. They have been mentored by none other than former LSC winner Tali, who represented Luxembourg for the country’s return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024. The 25-year-old has since worked on her career as a professional singer and is now sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation.
The competition, organised alongside the Luxembourg Song Contest, aims to offer the young stars of tomorrow a chance to experience the stage for themselves, while benefiting from coaching. This year they will be joined by the 2025 Eurovision act, Laura Thorn, for a grand finale in which they will all perform her contest entry “La poupée monte le son” as a group. Together with EDSUN, Laura has been working alongside the young singers to hone their performance.
This is an immense opportunity for the young performers, says Tali:
“It sounds so easy, but the more they perform on stage, the less nervous they will be. This is a great starting point. When I was young, I was the only one at my school who wanted to be a singer. Everyone else wanted to do more serious things. I really struggled to find opportunities like this one. It’s great that Rocklab has organised this competition to get young people on stage and throw them in at the deep end. It’s a super start!”
