Chris Maas’ career is a Luxembourgish success story. The drummer from Meispelt is currently playing esteemed venues across the globe as part of a trio with the music legend, bassist and singer, Sting, and guitarist Dominic Miller.

RTL caught up with Chris at a show in Paris to talk about his journey and how the tour is a dream come true, testament to his hard work and drive.

Chris was born and raised in Luxembourg and graduated from the Conservatoire before moving to London to pursue his dreams in music. He has come a long way from drumming in the Bertrange marching band, to performing in front of thousands every night on the world tour.

He joined Sting’s entourage after the pandemic, as Sting’s American band who were unable to travel under the Covid limitations were replaced by UK-based musicians.

When it comes to his famous bandmate, Chris says he is overwhelmed by the effort and hard work the 74-year-old Sting puts in to his performance every single day. “He’s always punctual, he has immense respect for everyone he works with. He is an inspiration to me. His work ethic is just unbelievable.”
