"Musical chameleon" Luzac and indie trio ShiroKuro are among the eight finalists announced for the Luxembourg Song Contest, which will select the nation's next Eurovision hopeful in January.

As Luxembourg prepares to select its Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) representative for a third time, eight finalists are set to compete in the national final, the Luxembourg Song Contest, at the end of January. In this article, the spotlight is on two of these candidates.

The first is the solo artist Luzac. His real name is Lucas Zagdoudi, a 28-year-old Luxembourgish singer-songwriter of Belgian and Tunisian descent. He describes himself as a musical chameleon, comfortable moving across a wide range of genres.

This versatility is showcased in his entry for the 2026 contest, Prison Dorée, the song with which he secured his place in the final. Luzac was also a finalist in last year’s national selection.

The second act profiled is the only band in this year’s final: the indie/pop-rock trio ShiroKuro. The band members have been making music for most of their lives and released their first EP three years ago.

Their contest entry, Eye to Eye, was written by singer and electric violinist Nathanaël Paulis as part of a project at the Berklee College of Music. He is joined in the band by guitarist and pianist Louis Comblin and drummer Matias Pollicino.
