Sonotron is a new venue for musicians which will allow them to book rehearsal rooms by the hour.
Differdange's 1535° Creative Hub has been developing one of its buildings to expand its creative offering for musicians in particular. The hub has announced its new concept, Sonotron, which provides rehearsal rooms for musicians to book by the hour. Sonotron is spread over two levels and consists of a large professional recording studio, nine rehearsal rooms and a small sound studio.
This new concept will allow musicians to rehearse, create, and record their artistry. Director of the 1535° Creative Hub, Tania Brugnoni, emphasised that the project is not just meant for professional musicians, but is also accessible to amateurs and those who wish to explore the possibilities of creating their own music.
Book a rehearsal room for between €5-10 an hour
Sonotron is founded on the principle of durability. The concept aims to share premises amongst musicians but also to provide them with basic equipment for amplifiers and percussion instruments. Sonotron will be open every day and it will cost between five and ten euros per hour to book a rehearsal space.
The long-term objective is for the project to finance itself. Sonotron's costs lie at €200,000 and the Ministry of Culture will contribute €50,000.
