Eighty leading amateur golfers from seven countries competed at the Grand Ducal Golf Course over the weekend, with Germany's Hugo Griesheimer and Eva Ringwald emerging victorious after two closely contested tournaments.

The Grand Ducal Golf Course hosted golfers from Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, Wales, and Luxembourg for three days and they certainly showcased the best of their skills on the course while competing for the champion title at these two INTAM editions.

Sixty-five players fought for the Champion title at the 80th edition on the men's side. Very tight results among the leaders of the pack came after two days of tournament, and a cut leaving the best 37 players in the field.

On the third day the positions scrambled, and Hugo Griesheimer from Germany became champion for the first time in a competition of this magnitude. After closing his third round with an eagle, his score -5 led to a play-off against runner up Tim Kretschmann also from Germany. With no doubt, he sunk the winning birdie after the first hole.

In third place came Mathis Perroni from France, who fought ferociously for a spot in the podium and a score of -4. Luxembourg showed up in the fifth position of the tournament with a score of -3 by Stefan Rojas.

On the women's side, 15 ladies came together to fight for the title at the 68th edition of the tournament. After three days of competition and 54 holes played, three ladies finished in a tie at +13, having to go to a play-off as well.

Eva Ringwald from Germany closed the deal with a par on the fourth additional hole played, while Emilia Omander (Germany) came as runner-up, leaving Sophie Charlotte Hempel (Germany) in third place at the podium.

This tournament also allows Griesheimer to qualify for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). He commented: "I am pretty surprised, I didn't expect to win but I am really happy about it, it has been a while since I won something, definitely I’ve been close, but I felt good about my golf and this week it worked out, I didn't know I qualified for WAGR but finally I am in."

The Luxembourg Golf Federation congratulated the winners and all participants following a successful weekend of international amateur golf in the Grand Duchy.
