With participation capped at 700 for safety reasons, this year's Minettstrail in Rumelange sold out six weeks in advance, as runners signed up to tackle courses featuring a three-kilometre mine stretch.

Some 700 runners took part in the fourth edition of the Minetttrail in Rumelange, exploring the region's cultural sites and racing for three kilometres through a mine.

The event, organised by the same team that manages the Escher Kulturlaf, offered courses of 14 and 20 kilometres around the mining town. Both routes included a three-kilometre stretch inside a mine, with the finish line located directly after the underground section – adding a unique experience for participants. To be granted access to the mine, runners were required to wear a helmet, carry a light, and bring a jacket.

This year's Minetttrail was already sold out a month and a half before race day. For safety reasons, participation is capped at 700 runners. The next edition has already been scheduled, and organisers have indicated that early registration will likely be essential again.
