According to the latest weather forecasts, people should be cautious when outdoors on Sunday afternoon, as the conditions might bring challenges to mobility.
With temperatures around the freezing point, snow and rain will move in from Belgium during the afternoon. According to current forecasts, the first snow or rain showers are expected to start around 2pm.
Sunday afternoon is likely to bring a bit of everything, and it’s currently difficult to predict exactly where it will snow and where freezing rain might fall.
The whole situation is expected to last four to five hours. Since temperatures are near freezing, the rain may fall as freezing rain or turn to ice on cold surfaces. This naturally increases the risk of dangerous conditions on the roads or for anyone travelling on foot.
National weather service Meteolux states that, depending on how the situation develops, an alert may be issued on Sunday morning.
