Investing time in a hobby, means you get time for yourself to do something that you enjoy and something to be excited about.
While hobbies are fun and entertaining, they are also very important and beneficial. Because they not only contribute to your wellbeing, but they also improve your mental health and reduce stress. I know half my generation is suffering from one of these issues, so I would suggest they take an interest in a sport or an instrument.
A hobby allows you to build skills in concentration, reflexes, discipline, and socialization. It's quite easy to make friends since everyone there should share the same hobby as you.
On the downside, most hobbies do cost money. But that shouldn't deter you from staying active and taking time to focus on yourself.
Studies prove that hobbies increase creativity and relaxation. Being active makes you less likely to experience stress, depression, and low moods, as demonstrated by health psychologist Matthew Zawadzki.
Thankfully, Luxembourg offers a variety of hobbies from sports to arts to music and plenty of other activities. Most local communes have websites for nearby clubs, or if you look up the sport itself, you’ll find loads of options to choose from.
From my perspective, I had never played sports because I just thought I was uninterested and lazy. I tried out for several teams, but none were something I wanted to continue, so I figured sports weren't for me.
Finding a sport you enjoy isn't as easy as one might think; you really must dedicate yourself to finding one, and that's exactly what I did. I watched every sport imaginable until I stumbled upon one that caught my attention, which was volleyball, so I tried out for the club and fell in love with it. I've been playing it ever since.
I'd say I wish I had started earlier because everything I wrote above is true. The hobbies I pursue relieve stress and taught me skills. If I can do it, so can you!
