The parade took place early on Sunday evening and included around 400 tractors. The initiative was first launched last year when the country entered its first Christmas lockdown. Even though current measures are less severe, the farmers still wanted to repeat the parade and show their gratitude.

The parade almost doubled in size compared to last year. 70 tractors started out from Schouweiler, the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg being their first stop. There, the young farmers awarded a gift basket to the hospital staff to thank them for their efforts.

Since the initiative has proven to be popular, organisers consider making it a permanent tradition, which may very well continue even after the pandemic.
