The final stage in the installation of a wind turbine on the Beckerich site is taking place this Thursday, as the transport vehicle carries the 70-metre-long rotor of the turbine to its destination.
As the municipality of Beckerich explains in a statement, the rotor must be positioned vertically in certain places due to its size in order to pass through tight sections – including, for instance, at the junction leading up to the hill Kuelebierg.
According to the wind turbine operator Oekostroum, the turbine is expected to go into operation in September.
