Shortly before 6pm on Christmas Day, police were alerted to an attempted robbery at the petrol station in Frisange, where a man had tried to steal a bottle of alcohol. A patrol intercepted the thief at the scene and took him to the police station, where he was placed in custody due to his inebriated state.

Disrupting public order

Just before 9pm a fight broke out at Berchem services on the A3 motorway. Police officers arrived on the scene to find two people in a physical altercation in the car park and succeeded in separating them.

One man was in such a drunken state that he had to be restrained multiple times to stop him from wandering out on to the motorway.

He was deemed to represent a risk to himself and others and was therefore placed in custody following a medical check.
