Minister for Mobility and Public Works François Bausch explained that external factors affected around 32% of the delays. The strikes on the French network alone accounted for over 2,000 train cancellations from April 2018 to July 2018.

Other external factors could be vehicles blocking barriers, trespassers on the track, trains colliding with animals on the line, and other such unpredictable occurrences.

Bausch also said that some issues could stem from the track installation, and explained that special teams are on hand each day to monitor problems with the track, as well as a coordination committee to analyse and react to incidents involving the infrastructure. The minister did acknowledge that the network requires expansion and is currently reaching its limits, saying there would be future investments to improve the service and quality. The city's stations are to be expanded, a new line will link the city and Bettembourg, platforms across the country will be extended, and so on.

Passengers will also be better informed regarding delays or cancellations, and train seating will be improved, going up by 46%.
