The manhunt lasted two days, culminating in the police announcing the suspect’s arrest on Sunday evening. The man is accused of threatening individuals with a weapon, allegedly a gun, in the afternoon on Friday.
The arrest followed an arrest warrant and was made possible through cooperation with the Enfast service, the European police network for wanted persons, based in Paris.
According to the police, the suspect is expected to be “extradited to Luxembourg in the next few days.” In addition to the firearm threats, the man is also alleged to have robbed a person, prompting a large-scale mobilisation of local police forces in Peppange.
