Police are looking for a suspect in Peppange and neighbouring villages. The public is advised to not pick up any hitchhikers in the area.
A police intervention was underway on Friday afternoon on Rue des Ponts in Peppange. Traffic in and around the village was disrupted and the public is advised to avoid the area.
Police say the suspect is of North African descent, wears jeans, black and white sneakers and a black jacket. He is said to have threatened individuals.
A special unit was photographed outside a home, as well as various police patrol units. A RTL employee in Peppange reports that operations are focused on a private home on Rue des Ponts.
A helicopter is hovering above the village.
Any suspicious individuals should be reported to police via the emergency number 113.
LU-Alert published a yellow alert for "low risk/potential danger" at 4.18pm, saying one person is on the run. A search is in progress.
