Technological progress and the growing availability of administrative data are opening up new perspectives, said STATEC director Tom Haas on the occasion of World Statistics Day. To turn this wealth of information into strategic insights, STATEC has set up a new data lab.
“This data lab puts STATEC’s strategic vision into practice”, Haas explained. “It drives innovation in data processing, standardises and automates procedures, and supports both data producers and users of statistics.”
Every project developed by STATEC and its data lab pursues the same objective, the director emphasised:
“To make the best possible use of data, modernise our production chains, and produce information that is essential for informed public debate.”
