Following the events, DP has now decided to consult a special committee and determine whether or not Semedo will remain a member of the party.

Bettel responds to the events involving MEP Semedo

Party leader Corinne Cahen and secretary general Claude Lamberty released a joint video statement, in which both condemn workplace harassment to the highest degree and state that such behaviour has no place in the Democratic Party. Lamberty changed his position in the affair, as only last week, he still proclaimed the case to be "closed":
