Police carried out a routine alcohol check by order of the prosecutor’s office in Diekirch from 11pm on Saturday to 4.15am on Sunday. Five out of 98 motorists received a fine, while three had their driving license revoked at the scene.
Authorities also ran into drink drivers elsewhere in the country. They stopped one for speeding in Hollerich at 2.45am, pursued another for speeding in Soleuvre, and caught a third trying to evade them in Differdange. In all three cases, the drivers were intoxicated and had their license revoked at the scene.
