
MeteoLux issued a yellow alert on Sunday for the entire Grand Duchy as temperatures were expected to hit 30–33°C on Monday and up to 34°C on Tuesday. However, on Monday morning, Meteolux raised the alert level to orange for the southern Luxembourg, cautioning of blistering temperatures of 32–35°C on Monday and Tuesday.
The heat was particularly intense between 12 and 9 pm on Monday. Meteolux warned that for the Moselle region and any surrounding villages, temperatures likely exceeded 35°C.
Top tips for dealing with a heatwaveTemperatures will stay elevated for Tuesday as the day is expected to start with a minimum of around 20°C and peak at 34°C. However, in the late afternoon or evening, temperatures are expected to cool down with scattered thunderstorms and light rain anticipated. According to current forecasts, temperatures are expected to drop below 30°C starting from Wednesday.
People with illnesses and senior citizens should especially limit their sun exposure. However, the most important advice for everyone is to stay well-hydrated.
