One car and a lorry were involved in a head-on collision according to RTL information.
While both drivers were uninjured, the car passenger was severely injured and trapped in the badly damaged vehicle.
Emergency services and the SAMU service were at the scene. The injured individual received first aid at the scene before being transported to hospital.
The road was closed to traffic for about two hours but reopened at around 10.15am.
