The CSV seems firmly resolved on leaving the days of being a junior coalition partner behind them. On Wednesday evening, the party presented its list of candidates and Serge Wilmes, Luxembourg City Alderman and MP in the Chamber of Deputies, has been designated to challenge coalition partner and incumbent Mayor Lydie Polfer from the Democratic Party (DP).
At present, the DP has not yet announced its full list of candidates, but it is expected that Mayor Polfer will run for office again.
Aside from Wilmes, the CSV list is completed by further elected officials from the capital, including aldermen Laurent Mosar and Maurice Bauer, as well as councillors Paul Galles and Elisabeth Margue, co-president of the CSV.
