Engineering works on doubling the railways south of Luxembourg's capital will continue during the summer.

From Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 July, there will be no trains running between Bettembourg and Luxembourg - a disruption which will primarily affect residents in the south of the country, and French cross-border workers.

A rail replacement bus service will run to and from Thionville, Bettembourg, Berchem and Esch-sur-Alzette. Howald will have no service for the duration of the engineering works.

With two weeks to go before the disruption, CFL has published the timetables for the replacement buses:  line 90 (Nancy - Metz - Thionville - Luxembourg), line 60 (Rodange - Esch - Bettembourg - Luxembourg) and line 60a (Volmerange - Dudelange - Bettembourg - Luxembourg).

French commuters can use their SNCF season ticket to board regular bus routes 300, 301, 303 and 323. They will also be permitted to use the TGV provided they have a corresponding ticket, which can be reimbursed by SNCF up until 20 September.

Finally, cyclists will be allowed to bring their bicycles on board buses, provided there is sufficient space.
