In light of the completion of the Micheville bypass, the Raemerich interchange was temporarily closed to traffic. The bypass, which links Esch-sur-Alzette with the French towns of Villerupt and Audin-le-Tiche, hopes to alleviate the chronic traffic congestions by omitting Belval.

At last, the National Roads Administration has announced the interchange has been reopened to traffic, which means that:

  • Motorists from the A4 can now exit towards the Raemerich roundabout,
  • Motorists coming from Esch can now use the Raemerich roundabout followed by the Raemerich interchange to access the A4 (or alternatively, the Saint-Esprit roundabout near Belval).
