Between 10pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday, the police received more than 40 reports of public-order disturbances across Luxembourg, the Grand Ducal Police said in its bulletin. In most cases, order was restored when officers arrived, or the situation was resolved before officers attended the scene.

On Saturday evening, police were alerted to a fight at Place de Paris in Luxembourg City that reportedly left one person injured. When officers arrived, only one individual remained; they immediately insulted the officers and refused to cooperate. The woman was taken into custody due to their level of intoxication, the danger they posed to themselves and others, and their disturbance of public order.

Robbery at knifepoint

Late Saturday afternoon, an armed robbery was reported to the police in Bertrange. The alleged perpetrator reportedly threatened the victim with a knife and demanded that they hand over their valuables.

The suspect then fled with a stolen smartphone and headphones. The victim was not injured. An investigation is underway, and an enquiry has been initiated by the police.

Nine driving licenses revoked

Between Saturday and Sunday morning, the police conducted alcohol checks in Luxembourg (Boulevard Joseph II, Place Winston Churchill, Rue de Bonnevoie), in Alzingen (Route de Thionville), Bettborn (RN12), and Niederfeulen (RN15), following orders from the Public Prosecutor.

In total, 805 motorists took breath tests. Twenty-two proved positive, leading to the issue of 15 reports and seven on-the-spot fines.

Nine drivers had their licences revoked.
