In the early hours of Sunday morning, officers observed a man and a woman arguing loudly in a parking area on Boulevard Royal. When police intervened, the man began provoking the officers and could not be calmed down.

Additional officers were called to the scene, which further agitated the man. He was subsequently taken into custody, as there were clear indications that he had consumed excessive amounts of alcohol.

However, this initial arrest did not put an end to the incident. When officers then approached the woman, she reacted in a similar manner, provoking the police and refusing to calm down. She was eventually taken into custody as well.

Theft

The theft of a handbag on Rue de la Monnaie in Luxembourg City was reported at around 1am on Sunday. Police were quickly able to locate three individuals matching the description of the suspects.

Drink driving

Police issued two provisional driving bans to drivers who were found to be over the legal alcohol limit.

One driver was stopped in Dudelange after speeding on the A13. Their breath test showed a positive result.

Another driver, who veered into the oncoming traffic lane on Allée Scheffer in Luxembourg City at around 4.40am on Sunday, was also stopped by police. The driver refused to take a breath test; however, police noticed that upon leaving their vehicle, the individual could not stand straight anymore and was showing clear signs of excessive alcohol consumption.
