Luxembourg has acquired the unsavory reputation of being one of the worst offenders in Europe when it comes to producing plastic waste. As Luxembourg's first packaging-free grocery store, Ouni seeks to reverse this trend.

A while ago we talked to Fredrika, who works at Ouni. She explained that "the name itself speaks for what it is - Ouni stands for organic unpackaged natural ingredients. But is also means 'without' in Luxembourgish." Shoppers can find a wide range of products ranging from fresh fruits and vegetables, to pasta, grains and pulses, pastries, dairy, beer, wine, personal hygiene, and cleaning products. It's all sold in bulk, free of packaging. Sustainability remains key.

The latest addition to the shelves of the store is one that should make the day of vegan couple stuck in quarantine.... Ouni now also sells vegan condoms. According to Ouni's Facebook page, the condoms are from now available in bulk in 4 different sizes (49, 53, 56 and 60mm). Happy... shopping!

Many condom companies manufacture regular latex condoms using casein, a milk protein.
