Tour du Luxembourg 2026Road closures and bus diversions expected in Luxembourg City on Wednesday

The first stage of the Tour du Luxembourg will set off from the city centre on Wednesday, 16 September, resulting in extensive road closures and changes to multiple bus lines throughout the day.

Top cyclists including Mathieu Van Der Poel, Jan Christen, and the full Tour du Luxembourg peloton will assemble in rue du Fossé from 1pm on Wednesday, 16 September. The official start is scheduled for 2.45pm, with riders expected to arrive at rue Sigefroi around three hours later.

Large parts of Luxembourg City's historic centre will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, from 8am until 11pm. The affected streets are rue Sigefroi, rue de la Boucherie, rue du Rost, rue de l’Eau, and rue du Palais de Justice. Rue du Fossé will be completely closed to vehicles from 9am to 8pm. In addition, rue Large and montée du Grund will be closed from 7pm on Tuesday. Parking restrictions will apply in these areas for the duration of the event.

Bus lines 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 19, 21, 23, 26, 30, 32, and 33 will be subject to diversions or timetable changes due to the road closures. Passengers using public transport in central Luxembourg are advised to consult updated timetables before travelling on Wednesday.
