The CSV mayor acknowledged that the people have clearly decided that the old town hall should remain intact. The local opposition criticised the construction project of a new building due to the elevated costs.

A referendum was therefore held to give people the opportunity to voice their opinion on the matter. On Sunday, 74% of participants voted against the proposal of a new building at the same location.

When asked about the future of the town hall, Mayor Massard-Stitz admitted not knowing how to proceed.
