
On Wednesday at around 2.30pm, police were called to a supermarket on Rue de l'Alzette in Esch-sur-Alzette following a theft. A woman had left the shop without paying for two cans of drink. When a police patrol later located her near the Esch municipal building, she became extremely uncooperative, biting one of the officers on the arm. The injured officer required medical treatment in hospital. The woman has been cited for theft with violence and resisting police officers.
In the early evening, police were called to Rue Joseph Juck in Luxembourg City after a dispute broke out in front of a café between two intoxicated men. During the confrontation, one of the men pulled out a knife to threaten the other. The second man attempted to defend himself with a bottle, injuring his own hand in the process. Police officers intervened, separated the two, and confiscated the knife. The injured man declined medical treatment.
One of the men continued to behave aggressively towards police and was taken into custody. A small quantity of hashish was also found in his possession.
Later, just after 10pm, another altercation occurred in the Gare district at the intersection of Rue d’Épernay and Rue de Reims. Two men had to be separated by officers, with one continuing to be uncooperative, threatening, and insulting the police. He was temporarily detained.
Police were also called to an incident at the Schueberfouer on its final evening. A man had threatened and shouted at two women. When a security guard intervened, the man struck him in the face with a bottle, injuring him. The suspect then resisted police attempts to calm him and was subsequently arrested. The incident has been officially recorded.
At around 6.25am on Thursday, police received reports of a fight in the surroundings of Avenue de la Faïencerie in Limpertsberg. On arrival, officers found a man lying injured on the road. Initial reports suggest that three or four people had assaulted him before fleeing the scene on foot in the direction of Allée Scheffer. The victim was taken to hospital for examination, and an investigation is ongoing.
