ProActif, a social development organisation that aims to offer professional training for underprivileged people, has not had a quiet year. Chaos erupted when director François Georges was dismissed in February, under allegations of misconduct and aggressive behavior. Georges, who had several other accusations levied against him, in turn pointed the finger at both the board of directors and president Norbert Conter for conflicts of interest and governance issues.
Now, ProActif has undergone restructuring, with the board of directors reduced from 11 to only 4 volunteer members, and elections will be taking place to name the new management team. After 13 years, Norbert Conter is stepping down as president, a position that will be taken over by his daughter, Christine Conter.
Vice-president Patrick Dury is also leaving and will be replaced by Christophe Knebeler. According to RTL’s inquiry, this step is part of a generational shift at ProActif, an organization with around 600 members, including nearly 500 beneficiaries. The former director is still involved in a legal dispute at the labor court.
Other newly elected members of the board include Georges Conter as secretary and lawyer Jean-Marie Bauler. No longer represented on the board are the former director, as well as mayors Michel Wolter and Marion Zovil, and former CSV deputy Martine Mergen.
