Following concerns over police staff shortages voiced by the Christian Social People's Party (CSV), Minister Kox disclosed the number of officers currently suspended, on unpaid leave, or on extended sick leave.

In response to a recent parliamentary enquiry on police staff shortages from CSV MPs Laurent Mosar and Léon Gloden, Minister of Internal Security Henri Kox conveyed that 18 police officers are suspended due to disciplinary measures at present. 35 are on unpaid leave, either due to personal or professional reasons, while 24 officers have been on sick leave for longer than six weeks.

The force, as of 1 July 2023, counts 2,467 officers and 674 civilian employees, as noted by Minister Kox during a press briefing on police recruitment efforts on Thursday.
