A large-scale police operation unfolded in Luxembourg City on Friday afternoon, with authorities confirming an ongoing manhunt for a suspect. Several witnesses reported the incident to RTL, describing a significant police presence in the area.

The individual sought by police reportedly evaded a checkpoint at around 3.20pm before fleeing on foot along Route d’Arlon toward the city centre.

At 5.20pm, police confirmed that during the suspects’ flight, their car collided with a police vehicle, injuring two officers. While one suspect was apprehended at the scene, the second remains at large.

Authorities urged the public not to pick up hitchhikers in the area as search efforts intensified, with a police helicopter deployed.

At around 8pm, authorities announced that the search has remained without success and that an investigation has been launched.
