Last year, 1,126 accidents occurred on Luxembourgish roads. However, despite increasing numbers of vehicles on the roads, the number of accidents remains somewhat stable in relation to the traffic, according to a press release published by the Ministry of Mobility on Friday.
1,134 of the 1,500 people involved in collisions in 2025 sustained minor injuries. 335 people suffered serious injuries, and 29 did not survive the accidents, including eight pedestrians. This represents a significant increase in comparison to 2024, when 18 people died on the Grand Duchy's roads. Although no cyclists were included in the number of fatalities, they were more likely to suffer serious injuries last year than ever before.
The Ministry said the number of severe accidents was increasing, resulting in contradictory conclusions from the report.
The percentage of people who had an accident while under the influence of alcohol unfortunately remained somewhat stable at 19%. The same applied to people who were involved in accidents while driving under the influence of drugs.
