CSSF reportLuxembourg fund sector holds steady with €5 trillion in assets

RTL Today
Luxembourg's fund sector has observed a marginal decrease in the total assets managed, while the number of funds has largely stayed the same, according to recent data released by the Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF).

The latest figures reveal the presence of 3,323 active funds in Luxembourg, marking a decrease of 90 funds over the past year. Meanwhile, the assets under management have experienced a slight decline, moving from €5,300 billion to €5,195 billion within the same timeframe.

CSSF Director Claude Marx previously discussed the trend on RTL Radio, attributing it to Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) opting for Ireland due to the latter’s favourable non-double taxation agreement with the United States. However, Luxembourg remains an attractive destination for alternative funds, sustaining its appeal in this sector.
